Prizes Our 2009 calendar will feature your photographs and we will pay £100 for each one published - plus a prize of £500 for the one adjudged the best (£200 and £100 for the runner up and third place).
We are looking for mainly for picturesque scenes. possibly with a seasonal theme, but will publish anything we like that is fit to print.
So all you budding David Bailey's get cracking!
Who can enter The competition is open to all serving and retired members of the police service and their families.
Judging A panel of judges will select the winning entries. The selection criteria include:
Timetable The closing date for entries is 31 August 2008. Winners will be notified by the end of September 2008 and results will be announced on the MPFS Intranet and Internet websites before the end of October 2008.
You can email us your digital images using this link or photos@mpfs.org.uk (remembering to fill in your contact details and attach your image(s)) or via post/dispatch remembering to include your contact details.
Technical Details: All digital images are welcome, however the orientation should be landscape for ease of publication. They must also be a minimum size 7x5 inches ( 177.8x127mm ) at 300dpi (A 3 MegaPixel camera set at highest resolution should be adequate). When sending by email the maximum file size should be 10 Megabytes compressed or otherwise in TIFF or JPEG format.
To solve the "Gentle" puzzle, each 3x3 box, each row, and each column must contain all the numbers 1 to 9.
There is a £100 prize for the puzzle - entries must be received by 30th Nov 2008. We need the numbers from the highlighted squares (in any order). Correct answers for the puzzle will be drawn in early December 2008.
