The roots of the Society go back to 1893 when the Metropolitan Police Provident Association was formed, evolving to its current form in 1948.

metfriendly exists to service the savings and life insurance needs of the police service with fair value products. We have 15,000 members - serving, retired and family - see eligibility.
We remain a mutual - our members who save on a regular basis or invest lump sums with us share in our profits. Our assets of approximately £90 million are invested in bonds, shares and property.
We also provide protection products - e.g. mortgage protection (including critical illness cover) to safeguard your dependants and income protection to help you cope with prolonged sickness or injury.
