Judge's Comments

St Michael's Mount provides the subject for this image. The sun setting on this image provides the warm colours that go through the picture and give it an incandescent feel. The exposure and focussing are perfect in this image from the detail in the causeway in the foreground to the less sharp Mount itself providing the 3D like effect created by the depth of field of the camera.

This image follows more closely the rule of thirds with the causeway in the bottom two thirds and the Mount and sky the top third. The causeway then fills two thirds of the width of the photo at the bottom leaving space for the sea and boulders to achieve maximum effect.

This is another image that provides a good example of composition coupled with technical photographic skill.
