To celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, the Friendly Society are offering free cover until August 2008, when you apply for Income Protection (PHI).

Apply now using the application form on the right, this can be found on th PHI Brochure and Key Features (pdf) - pages 13 & 14, and we will not collect any premiums until August 2008.

Alternatively contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Income Protection is available to all members of the police service. It provides a tax-free monthly income when you are on half pay or no pay. Cover extends to Medical Retirement for most conditions (until age 60). There is also a £15,000 critical illness benefit.

Existing policyholders have been given the option to switch to the new contract terms and benefit from the lower premiums. We have done this automatically for business written since September 2002 as it is in the interest of these members.

Members with older contracts should note that the revised policy wording, if selected, will not cover Medical Retirement if due to stress or any other nervous condition.

Those existing policyholders who have recently received new policy wordings, should note that exclusion for air travel when not a fare-paying passenger does not apply whilst on duty. The corrected wording is given in the specimen policy .
